The Direct Texas Story
Originally known as WishList, Direct Texas was founded in 1990 in Austin as a mailing list company. In 1997, Carolyn Lehmann was brought on board to sell lists and to expand into offering turn-key mail solutions. In 2004, the company founder retired and Carolyn took over and moved the company to her hometown of New Braunfels.
In 2007, WishList added the statewide Texas Voters file to their list offerings, creating the opportunity to be a list and mail vendor to political campaigns, and began providing lists and services to candidates across the state under the dba VoterDirect Texas.
In 2008, WishList opened its on-site print shop to lower costs and decrease production time for their commercial and political customers.
In 2018, WishList Direct officially became Direct Texas.
In 2022, Direct Texas adding large format printing and screen printing.
Over the last 30 years, Direct Texas and VoterDirect Texas have earned a solid reputation for being responsive and reliable for all of our clients, while providing them high-quality printing and direct mail products at a fair and reasonable price.
Meet The Direct Texas Team
With over 25 years in the direct mail and list business, Carolyn focuses on helping companies, non-profits, churches, political candidates, and others reach their goals. By adding a personal touch to every project, coupled with 35 years working in retail, non-profit, and outside sales, Carolyn specializes in pulling all the pieces together to make your direct mail successful.
General Manager, Sales
Hilary has worked for Direct Texas on and off since 1997 and returned full-time in August of 2017. She manages all financial matters for the team at Direct Texas. Hilary handles all the accounts payables and receivables, so for any questions on your invoices or to make payments, Hilary is the one to call.
She also handles our client art print sales.
From logos, letters, and postcards to brochures, books, and illustrations – for nearly 30 years Ryan has helped bring messages alive for companies and organizations. His goal is to visually reinforce an organization’s message and mission so that they resonate with their audience. His creative instinct, attention to detail, and eye for design result in marketing and fundraising campaign materials that are unique and eye-catching.
Print Shop Manager
Micheal joined Direct Texas in 2012, after more than 15 years in digital print production with Xerox in Houston. His expertise and knowledge of digital printing has been invaluable for our in-house printing and mailing capabilities.
Shelley joined Direct Texas in 2014 as Database Manager and Programmer. She has worked in software development since 2000, with an emphasis on GIS and database programming in SQL Server. Her experience and knowledge have increased and improved our already impressive in-house list inventory.
